Review article : "One in Four Small Businesses Hates Social Media; iContact Survey Uncovers Love Affair with Facebook (And Cooling Passion for Groupon)”


This article describes a recent survey by a leading email marketing and social media company, iContact, Revealed small business owners do not trust social media Universally. Social media is the latest revolutionary way of marketing the right product to right customer. But the survey showed that One out of every four small business owners surveyed hate social media - from Facebook and Twitter, to LinkedIn and Groupon. Negative Sentiments range in vitriol, from "it seems a like an enormous time commitment" to "it has nothing to do with the merit of the business, but WHO can Manipulate the system."

*        Based surver,  FACEBOOK is not like insurance and finance business owners and trusted by the non-profit (87 percent) and education (82 percent). 

*        TWITTER: Small business owners split on Twitter were the resource persons, with 54 percent 46 percent loving it and hating it.

*        GOOGLE +: The new Google service has left small business owners undecided. Forty-eight percent love it while 52 percent are not convinced.  

*        LINKEDIN: Sixty-three percent of respondents were fans of the professional networking site. The most LinkedIn love came from businesses with fewer than 50 employees. The professional services sector harbored the biggest fan base, with a whopping 82 percent declaring their love for LinkedIn.

But the sentiment does not mention anything that makes small businesses just do not believe in social media. iContact is only working with small businesses and only reveal what percentage of small businesses are happy or not to social media. One of the reasons why small business is based on articles of hatred towards social media is money and time. As mentioned the CEO of iContact "But when They are strapped for money and time, they're quick to say if something is not worth the investment of either."
